Never Before has Treated Lumber Looked this Elegant
The Uwharrie Plantation series (pronounced you-WAH-ree) combines the graceful elegance of wing chair styling with the rustic charm of outdoor folk craft. Heavy construction and generous scaling places this seating in a category by itself.
Unlike its country cousin Adirondack, the Uwharrie Chair features four legs and offers a more natural -- and more comfortable -- sitting posture. Its premium, kiln-dried treated lumber construction ensures years of performance; its distressed finish treatment provides a careworn, antique appearance.
Uwharrie products are available in three finish types!
- Wash: All products with a wash finish are painted with a very light finish. It will be possible to see the grain of the wood through the paint.
- Distressed: All products with a distressed finish have a slightly more intense finish color, but have been distressed to give the appearance of a time-worn antique.
- Pristine: Uwharrie products can also be ordered in a "pristine" or painted finish. If you are seeking a completely painted surface with little to no distress, you should select pristine. If you wish to order this finish, please call as it is special order.

About Uwharrie and Southern Pine
Uwharrie Chairs are crafted of solid, kiln dried pressure treated pine, the material of choice for outdoor deck construction. Insect and rot resistant, the furniture requires no additional protection from exposure to weather. This is why it is possible to distress the finish on Uwharrie Chairs, giving them the appearance of time-worn antiques.
You should expect to see some additional loss of paint and some surface cracking; exposed wood will eventually turn dark; the wood will even warp slightly from time to time. This makes each piece unique, and slightly different from the rest. Even as nature matures your furniture, the wood and the product will remain structurally sound for years to come.
Warranty Information:
The wood used in Uwharrie Chair products is warranted against termites and decay, when used in normal environmental conditions, for a lifetime (30 years for hospitality organizations.) The hardware is also warranted against corrosion due to exposure to normal environmental conditions.
The original consumer is entitled to receive new wood replacement parts for damage or rot or termites. The original consumer is also entitled to replacement hardware if any screws or bolts experience corrosion under normal environmental conditions.
